How Perspective Can Change Your Life

After days of sweltering heat, yesterday, dark clouds rolled up suddenly, and rain came pouring down. Thunder, lightning, cool breeze, the fine spray of raindrops on the face, uplifting the spirit. In a few moments, that is all there was. No memory of the heat. Just a glorious showering of joy from above.

That is life for you. Everything changes, so quickly. And if we flow with the changes, we are at peace. Or not. For instance, when it began raining, we could have cribbed about some program that went awry, the mess in the driveway or garden, went back to some routine work inside. Or we could drop everything and sit outside or dance in the rain. Feel Nature at its best and the blessings it brought unasked, undeserved. For one and all. The trees and flowers, the thirsty birds, animals, the underprivileged or workers sweltering in the heat, and so on. Grace is benevolent to all. It showers on all equally. But blessed are those who receive it with awareness and gratitude. Their joy and abundance multiply and their problems diminish. Just as those who savored the rain fully, went back to their tasks, overjoyed, refreshed and full of enthusiasm, be it for the most mundane tasks. It’s all upto us. How we view a situation, a person, ourselves. Change the perspective and everything changes. For better or worse, it’s upto us. Taking responsibility for our feelings, desires, responses, changes, everything. Taking back the power we ourselves had given to others, to control us, sets us free and them too. Creating a space for better interaction and greater harmony. Enjoy the sun when it is shining, even the heat and discomfort. Then enjoy the rain when it comes. Joy or sorrow, let it come, savor it fully and then move on, carrying no baggage. With hope in our hearts and a song for our spirit. Stay blessed Always.
