Going back to the powerful, ironclad spirit inside

We are made to be loving, kind, simple, joyful and connected to each other. Each of us carries that simplicity, innocence and a divine spark within us. All this is our essence, and comes as naturally to us, as breathing. Our behavior as children was like that. But over the years, we were made to believe, that to survive you have to be tough, attack, defend, be self absorbed, at the cost of others.

Anger, hatred, jealousy, and worst of all, callousness and indifference became the norm all over the world. Fear began to prevail over love and in any interaction, there is a defensiveness and a readiness to attack or protect oneself. Like the law of the jungle and not as civilized human beings and because we are fearful and judgmental, invariably, communication goes awry. How sad that it takes no effort to be loving, kind, caring and peaceful. It takes a lot of effort, to hold grudges, to be unforgiving, letting anger and resentment build up inside and causing so much harm to the body and mind. What we spill out onto others is just a fraction.

The rest remains simmering inside us, for days, weeks, years, eating away at us like acid. Yet, we prefer to be in this mode, than to be loving and compassionate. For years, wise teachers and masters have incarnated, to spread the message of love but we do not learn. We choose the hard way, suffer and then become bitter and complaining. We choose every time and we wonder why we are unhappy. Grace comes again and again to make us aware and change but if only we would. The new year approaches from the corner and all festivals bring hope and a chance to reconnect, with love and gratitude. Why wait for a festival? and why not make every day an opportunity to love, connect and be joyful, as we were meant to do?.

Made with love,
